En la séptima edición de la Noche Blanca del Flamenco, Casa Árabe organiza el concierto Algarabía, que pone el broche de oro al proyecto de Escuela de Música Árabe-Flamenco de Casa Árabe. La Escuela ha reunido en Córdoba a jóvenes artistas procedentes de distintos entornos musicales, para que compartieran un periodo formativo y se familiarizaran con las bases de los dos sistemas musicales, explorando el acercamiento entre ambos estilos. Participan: Rosa Escobar (viola), Mustapha Ghouzal (laúd y percusiones), Karim El Habib (voz y darbuka), Gema Jiménez (cante), Sergio de Lope (flauta), Javier Rabadán (cajón), Oussama Samsaoui (violín), Jur Vermijs (guitarra) y Juan Zarzuela (cante).     Al-Andalus and the thousand-year Kingdom of Granada (1013-2013) is the subject of debate and reflection at the seminar and series of conferences which Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Alhambra and Generalife Board of Trustees and the Legacy of Al-Andalus Foundation, has organized as the final brushstroke to the exhibition "Art and Cultures of Al-Andalus. The Power of the Alhambra", which has been on display at the Chapel and Crypt of the Palace of Carlos V (Granada, Spain). Within this context, Mariam Rosser-Owen, curator at the V&A Museum in London presents "Collecting the Alhambra" in Madrid.     International Seminar. The Arab Spring: The Conflict in Syria. Current Status and Consequences 1/4

    The VIII International Seminar organized by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies of FPSC (CEMOFPSC) was held at Casa Árabe in Madrid. The Seminar had the title "The Arab Spring: The conflict in Syria. Current status and consequences". During the different sessions of the seminar an analysis of the Syrian conflict was carried out by the experts engaged in the field of the Middle East. During the seminar different issues were addressed such as the internationalization of the conflict due to the strategic position of Syria in the Middle East and worldwide, as well as the situation of the Syrian refugees. The study of the current situation in Syria helps to understand more about the problems that Syria is facing today and to develop solutions to solve the actual problems. The opening ceremony of the seminar was chaired by Ms. Olivia Orozco, the Formation, Economy and Governance Coordinator of Casa Árabe; Mr. Javier Goizueta, CEO of Volunteering and Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the Community of Madrid; Mr. Pedro Lopez Aguirrebengoa, the Ambassador of Spain; Mr. Nadim Shehadi, Investigator at Chatham House, visiting professor at St Anthony's College (Oxford) and Advisory Committee member of the CEMOFPSC; and Ms. Pilar Lara, President of the Foundation for the Social Promotion of Culture.
