As part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (2018), Casa Árabe has organized eleven training workshops for youths and adults along with SextoMario, the goal of which is to increase sensitivity about history and historical values in the region.

At the same time, they are an attempt to draw attention to the potential offered by our cultural heritage, as well as the various challenges which it is facing in terms of the transmission of that heritage.

All of the workshops are free of charge, though you must sign up in advance. The materials required for the activities will be provided by the organizers.

SextoMario was created based on a calling to teach History in a pleasant and entertaining way, without failing to include the basic contents that form part of our values and culture, through a broad catalogue of educational workshops and games. With this focus, the workshops strengthen skills such as paying attention, memory, psychomotor skills and coordination, while the youths learn about a wide range of aspects from our past and, in turn, reflect upon our present. SextoMario is made up of professionals with advanced degrees in Art History, History and Archeology, possessing excellent backgrounds with training on the history and archeology of Cordoba. Moreover, they possess a great deal of experience in the field of teaching, which allows them to offer those whose take part in their workshops with extensive, diversified information on the history and archeology of our past, always in accordance with the level of those participating.
