Casa Árabe and the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) have organized this event for Thursday, October 10 in Madrid, with a wide-ranging set of events that will include topics such as the architecture of Al-Andalus and Spanish travelers in Arab countries, as well as poetry readings.

Sharjah is one of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates and is a regional leader in backing the book industry. in 2017, it received the title of UNESCO World Book Capital for 2019, to acknowledge its role in supporting literature and reading as a way to achieve dialogue between civilizations. The Emirate hosts a range of events, including the Sharjah International Book Fair, held since 1982, and is continuing to grow stronger in terms of its cultural status. And with this status it is being received as the guest of honor at the prestigious Madrid International Book Fair of 2019 (Liber). In close cooperation with the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), Casa Árabe is presenting a varied schedule of events covering such topics as the architecture of Al-Andalus and Spanish travelers in Arab countries, as well as readings of poetry from both East and West.
