MADRID
The Institute of Studies on Conflicts and Humanitarian Action (IECAH) has coordinated this newest edition of the course “The Arab-Muslim World in Transformation, 2019,” to be held at La Casa Encendida (address: Ronda de Valencia, 2) from November 5 to 27, on Tuesdays through Fridays, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The goal of the course is to increase awareness about the social, political, economic and security-related reality of the complex Arab-Muslim world, which means studying both its history and the present, looking back not only at the colonial experience, but also the changes and developments in relations between these countries and the West. Similarly, the course will deal with studying the main active conflicts in the region, the nature of their political regimes, the main sociocultural keys to their societies, and the causes and consequences of a series of migratory movements that have made clear Europe’s lack of will to face a dynamic for which the West shares much responsibility.

Olivia Orozco de la Torre, the Training and Economic Coordinator, will be giving the course sessions devoted to Islamic finance on the upcoming date of November 22, from 500 to 7:00 p.m.
