The Social and Human Rights Film Exhibition of Asturias is an initiative by Acción en Red Asturias and Amnesty International that has been held for five years now. It was set up as a space for cinema and critical thought to come together, allowing for a better understanding of reality, an initial step meant to lead to greater participation by people and the proposal of alternatives which lead to transformation.

Emerging filmmakers are behind the bulk of the films scheduled at this edition, with a careful selection of titles that form three themed sections: Peripheries, Another Station and Creators Looking South. In addition to this, there will be screenings at the official opening and closing events, special screenings and films shown as part of the CINE_EDUCA project.

The Exhibition includes 24 days of screenings, with 23 films shown in five different towns in Asturias (Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés, Langreo and Cangas de Onís), along with eight dialogues held between the artistic teams and various social groups.
