Artdecor Foundation through its project Cordoba City of Ideas, at its
headquarters in Cordoba as of October 27.

{page:WordSection1;}The initiative has been given support by the Municipal Government of Cordoba, AC/E and Cervezas Alhambra, as well as cooperation by Casa Árabe, as part of the programming agreement recently signed by Casa Árabe and the Artdecor Foundation, directed by Fernando Vacas.
Through this project, Venezuelan artist and resident Iván Candeo braids images together, using them to observe and analyze the differences between Arab lattice windows and Western windows. His research shows how both symbolic forms interact with the landscape, gaze and light. In this exhibition, Candeo will be projecting the images he has been gathering for his research onto the walls of the exhibition hall, in an installation that plays with the symbolism found in both types of windows.
Iván Candeo, the artist in the second edition of the “Scholarships for the creation of Cordoba, City of Ideas,” is a professor of Plastic Arts. He was born in Caracas in 1983 and currently lives and works in Barcelona. He has studied at the Máster Lav Contemporary Audiovisual Practices Laboratory in Madrid. He is currently completing a graduate course in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Candeo takes part in debate over art and the domain of visual culture. He underscores ideas surrounding visible forms which are acquired by portrayals of time and history, which he does as an intermediary who makes the images pass through various systems of visibility.
ARTDECOR FOUNDATION
The Artdecor Foundation was created with the primary interest of fomenting artistic creation and its cultural value, as well as pursuing the social benefits obtained through it by the citizens and the community of artists of Cordoba. The foundation was created on the basis of an international calling in accordance with the parameters of art, culture and sustainability. Since 2022, the Artdecor Foundation has been offering grants for artist-in-residency programs, along with aid for creators, through its project “Cordoba, City of Ideas.” This is the second edition.
