On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the official opening of Casa Árabe’s Cordoba headquarters, on Wednesday September 15 we will be hosting “Sonore - Al Andalus,” a show which combines Arab and Spanish music from the times of Al-Andalus to the twentieth century.
“Sonore - Al Andalus” creates a fusion of these two cultures in order to offer a contemporary, elegant and classical show which reminds us of our Arab past. The full show is performed in different formats, but on this occasion we will be holding a recital in which we get the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful voice of soprano Isabel Cañada, a singer with a great career behind her, accompanied on the piano by Elias Romero.
The recital opens with a poem from ninth century by the creator of the “moaxaja,” the poet of Al-Andalus, Ibn Muafá Al-Qabrí. The performance then continues with music from different eras by various Spanish composers, thus displaying the Arab cultural and musical legacy existing in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
In September 2021, we will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of our wonderful headquarters in Cordoba. Do not miss out on the schedule of events we have organized to celebrate the occasion.
