On Thursday, September 16, Casa Árabe is presenting the latest book by Sergio Barce, which is set in Larache, Morocco. It has been published by Ediciones del Genal.

These eight stories, which revolve around remembrance of the past, are filled with nostalgia for a time and people that will never return. A trademark of the author’s works in general is the city playing the main role in these snapshots, Larache, Morocco, where Barce lived his childhood and received from his parents and friends information about people, events, buildings, businesses, local customs and other activities carried out by them and the people they knew.

During the era of the Spanish Protectorate, Larache was a town that brought together members of the three cultures in an amicable co-existence: Christian, Muslim and Jewish. Sergio Barce at least attempts to bring back the memory of something that his elders experienced in all its splendor.

At the presentation, the author will be accompanied by Luisa Mora, head of service of the AECID’s Félix María Pareja Islamic Library.
