On January 3rd and 4th, Casa Árabe screened in Madrid The Adventures of Prince Achmed, an animated fairytale film for children and adult people which inaugurated Casa Árabe’s cinema program in 2013.

For those tickets bought online there was a reduced price and entered into a raffle of a book catalogue ‘Instituto Goethe - Programa de Cine. Lotte Reiniger – Películas.’

German filmmaker Lotte Reiniger, who became famous due to the animation silhouette films, directs this animation feature film, the oldest surviving of its kind. The story is based on elements taken from the collection 1001 Arabian Nights and it is one of the most beautiful classics of the cinema history.

The Adventures of Prince Achmed, by Lotte Reiniger (Germany, 1926, 66 minutes).
The film tales the story of a handsome prince who travels very far and lives magic adventures riding his flying horse. Prince Ahmed with the assistance of a witch meets Aladdin and fights against demons until he falls in love with a princess.
 
It was screened on January 3rd and 4th at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 19.30. Original version with subtitles in Spanish. The Goethe Institute of Madrid also collaborated to make it possible.

Tickets: 3 euros general price on the ticket office. 2 euros for online tickets, people officially unemployed, students of the Arabic Language Centre at Casa Árabe, and those holding Carné Joven. It is required to show credentials in order the discount to be applied. Discounts can not be combined. Advance sale under this page or the very same day of the screening -at Casa Árabe’s headquarters-, an hour before the screening.
