In order to mark this anniversary, which is commemorated every year on November 29, Casa Árabe has organized a special schedule of events which includes a book presentation, a show highlighting the spoken word and the screening of a documentary.

Since 1977, on November 29 of each year, the UN has commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The date was chosen for its importance to the Palestinian people because three decades earlier, on the same day in 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 181, later known as the “partition resolution,” which provided for the creation of a “Jewish State” and an “Arab State” in Palestine, with Jerusalem as an international city. Of the two states foreseen in that resolution, up to now only one has been created: Israel.

The schedule of activities that we have organized on this occasion includes:

Tuesday, November 28: Presentation of the book “Time of the White Horses” by Ibrahim Nasrallah.

Wednesday, November 29: Concert/recital of “chamæleon,” with Farah Chamma, LIEV and Alicia Sanchez.

Thursday, November 30: Film and colloquium: Screening of the documentary “Gaza” by Garry Keane and Andrew McConnell (Ireland, Palestine. 2019, 92 min.) as part of “Film of the Month” event series.
