June 24, 202210:00 p.m.
Casa Árabe headquarters (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9). 10:00 p.m. By invitation only.
Casa Árabe is hosting the performance event “Dissidance” (“Disidanzas”), which has resulted from the work carried out by dancer Leonor Leal and the Plata collective in recent months at our headquarters in Cordoba.
It is a journey of the senses that will combine the aromas of the Maghreb with Arab songs, Brazilian and Latin dances, and stories with bodies in motion that have gradually created a narrative based on flamenco.
The project “Dissidance: Flamenco, bodies and stories to be danced” has thus been designed as a starting point to continue exploring multiculturalism and the need for a space of coexistence as an example of social advancement.
Dissidance is a Silver project funded by the “Art For Change” call for projects by the La Caixa Foundation, with co-funding by Casa Árabe.
It has also been supported by the Municipal Government of Cordoba. Dissidance was made possible by the participation of more than twenty women from three associations: MZC (Women in Conflict Zones), APERFOSA (Peniel Association for Social Rehabilitation and Training).
