Photojournalism to debate. Experiences in the Middle East

On June 8th, within the framework of PhotoEspaña festival, in Madrid, Casa Árabe reflects on the Middle East photojournalism evolution for the last years and organizes a debate on this profession future against the backdrop of the recent Arab revolutions.

The debate will be chaired by Gema Martín Muñoz, Director General of Casa Árabe; and among the participants Manoocher Deghati, Iranian photojournalist and AP Middle East Photography chief in Cairo; Javier Bauluz, photojournalist and Periodismo Humano [Human Journalism] online journal director; and Geert Van Kesteren, Dutch photojournalist who has been granted an important acknowledgement for his works on Iraq and Iraqi refugees.

After the debate, From telex to twitter will be shown, a compilation of photographic works related to Arab and Muslim countries made by relevant professionals.
 
The event will take place at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 19.30. Free entrance.
