It will be held as of January 22, 2019 and registration is now open.

http://www.casaarabe.es/documents/download/2756This year, Casa Asia and Casa Árabe have co-organized a new edition of the course on an “Introduction to the Protocol and Business Culture in Arab Countries and Asia,” two of the regions with the most growth potential for Spanish companies in a global stage of economic consolidation, led by the Asian countries and oil exporters in the Middle East and North Africa.

In developing international projects and searching for new markets, being able to deal with commercial relations and make investments in other countries successfully often requires knowing a set of basic notions about the society, culture and business protocol of these places. Avoiding small misunderstandings which can create confusion in communications, knowing about the other parties and showing a sensitivity towards certain key cultural and social elements in their environment can turn out to be decisive in properly carrying out negotiations and building alliances.

The objective of this course is to provide professionals and companies that do business or are interested in doing business in these regions with a series of reference points and tools which facilitate communication, through knowledge about the features of the country where they will be arriving, as well as the basic forms of social and economic behavior there.

The course is divided into four modules, each lasting 16 hours, which those wishing to attend may sign up for separately.

1.    EAST ASIA: Japan, China and South Korea. (PDF)
2.    THE MAGHREB: Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. (PDF)
3.    WESTERN AND CENTRAL ASIA: India, Pakistan and Iran. (PDF)
4.    GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL: Saudi Arabia, Emirates and Qatar. (PDF)

General Contents:

Each of these units offers an introduction/contextualization of the politics, culture, society and religion of each region and country. Similarly, the course will approach the economies and these countries’ economic relations with Spain, as well as examining their business environment, legal system and business structure,  the factors which make it easier to do business there, and the relations with the companies and professionals in these countries (with practical case studies of companies and projects). The modules will be taught by experts and professionals with great experience in each of the regions and countries discussed.
