The Arab World through the Cinema: a Latin American and Spanish Approach

On the event of the book launch First Middle East Contemporary Cinema Exhibition, an English-Spanish bilingual edition, Sergio Becerra, director of the Cinematheque of Bogotá’s Capital District, and Alberto Elena, professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid, will discuss the knowledge of the Arab world societies through the Seventh Art.

On Thursday 3rd November in Madrid, both experts will try to tackle issues such as: Are cinema and conflict still the most common binomial in this kind of cinema? How do they outline the interest and the cultural exchange between these three regions in the light of the Arab Spring?
 
The event will take place at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 19.30. Free entrance.
