This conference, organized by the UNESCO Chair for Conflict Resolution at the University of Cordoba, with the participation of Casa Árabe, will be taking place in Cordoba from April 26 to 27.

World geopolitics is undergoing major transformation which affect us all. The Mediterranean is a stage for these changes and a chessboard where battles are being fought for resources, influence and regional power. This seventh edition of the Congress is aimed at discussing essential factors for understanding today’s Mediterranean, thus also attempting to anticipate the Mediterranean of tomorrow. To do so, a select group of international analysts and academics will be reflecting upon what the Mediterranean represents, how the inhabitants of its different shores perceive each other, which are its main geopolitical role-players, how alliances are formed and changed, and what the dynamics of conflict and cooperation are like in the Mediterranean basin. The socio-economic trends in Mediterranean countries will also be analyzed, with an emphasis on the social, political, energy and climate-related transitions that are already occurring.

The sessions will be streamed live. A link will be provided upon request when you register, if you are unable to attend in person. A certificate of attendance will be issued only to those registered individuals who attend in person.
