The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Madrid is presenting this
exhibition, with works by Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan bin Mubarak Al
Nahyan.
Casa Árabe cooperated on the organization of the show, which displays three series of works by this young artist from the Emirates. A series titled “The Dish” alludes to the influence held by the information which all of the media supply us with; in “Notable Figures,” the artist presents portraits of famous stars in the most important roles they played in film, and their conversion into cultural icons. The series “Happy Trip” is a personal and artistic interpretation of the typical advertising campaigns published by airlines.
In 2014, Sheikha Alyazia was awarded the International Prize for Emerging Artists given in the UAE, and her works will form part of the future collection at the Zayed National Museum.
