On the occasion of World Refugee Day (June 20), Casa Árabe is hosting  a screening of this film with a colloquium afterwards, arising from a citizen initiative that took place through the Board for Refugees and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of Madrid’s district of Salamanca.

The colloquium will include the presence of Tarik el Idrissi, a filmmaker, and Ana Liria Franch, the former president of the UNHCR in Spain and a representative of the Board for Refugees and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of Madrid’s district of Salamanca. The event will be presented by Karim Hauser, Casa Árabe’s International Politics Coordinator.

At the colloquium, we will discuss the situation of migrants within the contexts of both their host societies and their societies of origin, as well as the processes of settlement and alienation, and the construction of identity, which they all go through along their life paths.
