On Tuesday, September 16, Casa Árabe is organizing a conference titled “Project for Excavation and Restoration of the Temple of Thutmosis III in Luxor: A Spanish-Egyptian cooperation project,” which will be given by Myriam Seco Álvarez, an archeologist and the director of the project to excavate, restore and place the proper value on the temple, along with Javier Martínez Babón, an archeologist who forms part of the excavation research team. The event will be presented by Eduardo López Busquets, the General Director of Casa Árabe.

Thutmosis III was the pharaoh who conquered an empire which stretched from central Syria to northern Sudan. His work, which included the organization of an imperial administration that would last for three centuries, elevated Egypt to the category of number one power in the Asian Middle East.
