Since 1977, on November 29 of each year, or around that date, the the United Nations commemorates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. For this reason, Casa Árabe and the Diplomatic Mission of Palestine in Spain have organized this conference in Madrid on Thursday, November 28.

The conference will include participation by Mussa Amer Odeh, the Ambassador of Palestine in Spain, and Pedro Martínez-Avial, the General Director of Casa Árabe.

Despite the many years which have elapsed since their enactment, the provisions of the UN resolutions on the Palestinian Territories have yet to be fulfilled.  In the meantime, hundreds of thousands of Palestinian citizens, in both the Occupied Territories and throughout the rest of the world, continue suffering the consequences of this non-compliance. Complying with these resolutions could open up the path to peaceful co-existence between Palestinians and Israelis, benefiting those on both sides, and the region as a whole, which has for years endured the dramatic consequences of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Given the deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian Territories and the entire region in general, as well as the unilateral decisions reached in recent months, further complicating the two-state solution, the fulfillment of the UN provisions is an urgent challenge that must be overcome, now more than ever.
