IEMed Yearbook of 2013

The civil war in Syria, political Islam heading the governments of several Arab countries for the first time, right in the midst of their transition after the Arab Spring, the role of the traditional media and social networks in the revolutions and in the construction of new democratic states... These are just a few of the key topics from the year 2012 analyzed by several experts within the Yearbook.

As a new feature, the publication includes a large dossier which will now be focusing on one single topic. Prepared by the IEMed’s Arab World and Mediterranean area, in this issue the dossier will be dedicated to the changes and paralysis which are being experienced in the Arab world two years after what has come to be known as the Arab Spring.

Furthermore, it also includes a large section called Panorama, with articles on the main events in various regional spaces and Mediterranean countries, as well as the main news occurring in strategic sectors. As in each prior edition, it also offers a large set of maps, statistics, timelines and graphs, as well as a new section of information files containing socioeconomic indicators broken down by country.
