Within the framework of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Algerian revolution, Casa Árabe and the Embassy of Algeria are jointly organizing a conference titled “The Algerian Revolution: Its scope and repercussions in the region and around the world,” which will be given by Algerian writer and historian Mohammed Larbi Zebiri.

The event will be presented by Eduardo López Busquets, the General Director of Casa Árabe, and will include the intervention of Mohammed Haneche, Algeria's ambassador in Madrid.

Mohammed Larbi Zebiri, a historian and Algerian writer (Algiers, 1941), was the President of the Union of Algerian Writers and currently holds the position of President of the Forum of Thought and Culture in Algeria.

He has enriched the national library with a wealth of historical works, the most notable of which include: Southern Algeria's Resistance to French Colonialism; Introduction to the History of the Contemporary Arab Maghreb; The First Year of the Algerian Revolution; The Second Year of the Algerian Revolution; The Cultural Invasion in Algeria; The Men of Algerian Culture and the Revolution; The Ideology of the Algerian Revolution; Armed Struggle in the Era of Emir Abdelkader; Armed Struggle in the Era of Ahmed Bey and Hamdane Ben Othmane Khodja, Commander of the Political Battle. He has also translated the works The Woman, by Hamdane Ben Othmane Khodja, and The Memories of Ahmed Bey.
