Casa Árabe is presenting this book at an event which will provide a description of the jewels discovered in a Middle Kingdom tomb in Thebes
The event will include presentations by María Carmen Pérez Díe, director of the Egyptology Department of Spain’s National Museum of Archeology; Javier Martínez Babón, a member of the project for excavation of the “million-year-old temple” of Thutmose III and author of one of the book’s chapters, and Myriam Seco Álvarez, director of the project for excavation of the million-year-old temple of Thutmose III, and the editor and author of one of the book’s chapters.
This book is the culmination of a seminar on the million-year-old temples which were built to the west of the city of Thebes. Participating in that academic event, which was held two years ago at the University of Granada, were several directors of archeological projects related with this type of temples, members of Egypt’s Ancient Artifacts Service and specialists from the Spanish-Egyptian archeological mission that works at the million-year-old temple of Thutmose III. This work brings together all of the conferences held at that event.
Moreover, during this presentation the recent work to remove rubble from a Middle Kingdom tomb will be explained. That tomb, which is located under the temple, made it possible to locate the remains of a high-society woman from Thebes whose jewelry has been preserved.
The book was published thanks to aid for scientific research granted by the Office of the Assistant Rector for Scientific Policy and Research, of the School of Fine Arts and the Drawing Department at the University of Granada, as well as Banco Santander Universidades
