MADRID
Casa Árabe headquarters. Hall of Columns (at Calle Alcalá, 62, basement level). Mondays through Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sundays and holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free entry until the event’s capacity is reached.

With this exhibition, Casa Árabe and the Terrachidia Association hope to give visitors a better look at the oasis of M’hamid, showing them its territory, architecture and people through the town’s cultural heritage.

M’hamid is a place where traditions are still completely alive, earthen buildings are still the main form of construction and the local population, organized into associations for the region’s development, have been involved from the very beginning in a project carried out by the Spanish development NGO Terrachidia. This organization, made up of young Spanish architects and art historians, has been working for five years on the Project for Recovering Public Spaces in the local town, an effort which has allowed them to gather in-depth knowledge about the oasis through direct contact with the local population and the work they do together.

The exhibition shows the work performed by Terrachidia, where architectural workshops are the key to project development.
