The presentations will be given in Spanish and French (without simultaneous translations).

This seminar, which brings together 13 international experts, will be held in Cordoba on May 12-13. It analyzes the connections between the artistic disciplines from both countries.

The seminar titled “The modernization process in Moroccan arts and crafts and its connections with Andalusia and Spain: 1956-2012” was organized by the “Cultural Prospects Observatory” (HUM-584) of the University of Granada.

It will examine the modernization process that has taken place in Moroccan arts and crafts, ever since Morocco achieved its political independence from France and Spain in 1956 and up to the present. As of its independence, the modern project returned to the visual arts, in which easel painting and the naïf have played essential roles. Moreover, the seminar will show the connections with similar phenomena in Andalusia and Spain.
