On Wednesday, May 29, the Alternativas Foundation is presenting this report at the Casa Árabe headquarters in Madrid. It is titled Cross-border Dynamics in a Globalized Context and was coordinated by Elsa Aimé González and Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal.

The Africa Report by the Alternativas Foundation was produced in response to the growing commitment by the Spanish State to strengthen relations with Africa as a whole. Strengthening the ties between Spain and African States and regional institutions means drawing society and institutions closer to the realities of today’s Africa as a whole, bearing in mind the situations in different sub-regions. This effort necessarily includes providing access to the information on that continent and increasing awareness about the work of Spanish and African researchers on Africa.

With this goal in mind, the first report on Africa, titled Cross-border Dynamics in a Globalized Context, coordinated by Elsa Aimé González and Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal, is made up of thirteen chapters written by well-known specialists on different topics, including: social movements and political transformation inside and out of the continent, conflicts and peace-building, new international partners, migrations, EU-Africa relations, natural resources and the creation of the continental free trade area.
