The presentation of issue number 12 of the journal Awraq will be held in Cordoba on April 12, and in Madrid on April 13, as part of the Fourth Arab-Christian Day: Christian tradition in the Gulf countries. 

Casa Árabe has publishes issue nº 12 of “Awraq: Journal for analysis and thought on the contemporary Arab and Islamic world,” with a monograph dedicated to the “Christian East and Arab World.”  This issue, corresponding to the second half of 2015, includes a selection of the presentations given during the days of events titled The East and the Arab World: Third Arab Christian Literature Days, organized by Casa Árabe and the Universidad Eclesiástica San Dámaso from April 15-17, 2015. The main body of the journal includes the articles Hosius of Cordoba and the Unity of the Mediterranean World: Christianity in the first four centuries (Patricio de Navascués); Syria’s Christian Roots: Syriac Christianity and its influence on the earliest Christian communities in the Middle East (Jacinto González Núñez); Pre-Islamic Arab Christians: Reflection on their historical presence (Juan Pedro Monferrer-Sala); The Literary Legacy of Arab Christianity (Pilar González Casado); “Dhimma”: The status of Christians under Islamic authority and the situation in the Middle East (Herman Teule); Christians in the Holy Land: Testimonial history; a testimony in the difficult present; message of hope for a better future (Bishara Ebeid); Arab Christians amid Current Upheaval, Conditioned Existence and Forced Exclusion: What future awaits them? (Samir Morcos); Reflections on the status of the social fabric in the Middle East: The case of Lebanon (Hoda Nehmé); The Contribution of Arab Christianity to Modern-day Theology (Michel Younès).
