Casa Árabe is offering this course unit as part of the larger course series titled “Introduction to business protocol and culture in Arab countries and Asia,” co-organized with Casa Asia. This unit will be held from April 25 through June 20 of this year, and the registration period has now begun.

The countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are in one of the economic regions with the greatest growth potential for Spanish companies. In developing international projects and searching for new markets, being able to deal with commercial relations and make investments in other countries successfully often requires knowing a set of basic notions about the society, culture and business protocol of these places. Avoiding small misunderstandings, knowing about the other parties and showing a sensitivity towards certain key cultural and social factors in their environment can turn out to be decisive in properly carrying out negotiations and building alliances.

Course objectives:
To provide professionals and companies with a series of reference points and tools which facilitate communication, through knowledge about the features of the countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as the basic forms of social and economic behavior there.

Structure:
This course unit, consisting of 16 class hours, will provide an introduction and context to the politics, culture, society and religion of the Gulf countries, approaching the economies and these countries’ economic relations with Spain, as well as examining their business environment, legal system and business structure, the factors which make it easier to do business there, and relations with companies and professionals in these countries (with practical case studies of companies and projects). The course unit will be taught by experts and professionals with great experience in the countries which make up the region.
An attendance certificate will be given to the course’s students.
