Syrian cuisine is one of the most varied and successful types of food in the world. It is characterized by its aromas, colors, spices and flavors. It is a true Mediterranean diet that combines legumes, vegetables, meat and grains.

Within the framework of the activities which Casa Árabe has organized with the cooperation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in order to increase awareness about Syrian culture and heritage, this workshop on cuisine will be given by Ghadah Khouri.

Ghadah, a native of Syria, will be sharing more than forty years of experience and knowledge in the kitchen.

Among the recipes we will get the chance to learn are the following appetizers: hummus (chick pea purée), muttabal (eggplant purée), muhammara (red pepper purée), and fattush salad (a Syrian specialty with fried bread), and the following main dishes: kibbeh (croquettes made from lentils).

It will be an unforgettable experience and a great opportunity to learn to make real traditional Syrian dishes first-hand. To complete the class, we will all sit at the table to taste the menu together.
