The Arabic Language in Spain

Presentation of a study published in Arabic by the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for the Arabic Language. 

Casa Árabe is hosting this event, organized by the office of the Cultural Attaché of the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Spain, on the occasion of publishing a study titled “The Arabic Language in Spain,” in Arabic, by the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for the Arabic Language (KAICA).

Taking part in the presentation, in addition to the study coordinator, Maoulainine Maoulainine al-Atiq, are three of its authors: Ignacio Gutiérrez de Terán, a professor from the Department of Arab and Islamic Studies and Eastern Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Ignacio Ferrando Frutos, a professor in the Department of Philology at the University of Cadiz, and Nicolás Roser Nebot, a professor from the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Malaga. 

The meeting will be officially opened by the General Director of Casa Árabe, Pedro Villena, His Royal Highness the Prince Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Mansour bin Khalid A. Alfarhan Al-Saud, the Secretary General of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for the Arabic Language, Abdullah Alwashmi, and the Saudi cultural attaché, Bandar al-Jowaie. The event will be directed by Hosam Sadig Khouja.

This study forms part of a series of monographic works by the KAICA on the Arabic language published in different languages and countries. It was coordinated by Maoulainine Maoulainine al-Atiq, then a visiting a professor at the University of Granada, as well as the aforementioned authors, along with Bárbara Boloix Gallardo, a professor from the Department of Semitic Studies at the same university.
