December 18, 2014 7:30 p.m.
 CORDOBA
Casa Árabe Auditorium (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9 )  7:30 p.m. Free entrance until the event’s capacity is reached.

Casa Árabe and the publishers Ediciones El Almendro are presenting this work by diplomat Luis Miguel Bueno.

The event will include speeches by Luis Miguel Bueno, the author, Desiderio Vaquerizo, a Tenured Professor at the University of Cordoba, and Jesús Peláez, publisher.

Having recently arrived in Sudan, his first destination abroad, young diplomat Luis Miguel Bueno describes his everyday life in this country in this entertaining book. In its pages, which provide a pleasant description of a series of anecdotes and impressions, the reader is shown a two-fold perspective: that of the diplomat, more distanced and prudent, and that of the youth residing in an unknown country, more up-close and personal. Both allow readers to get a better look at the work performed by our embassies, while at the same time delving into this African nation, so little-known in Spain.

Luis Miguel Bueno holds a degree in Law from the University of Cordoba and earned a Master’s degree in “Islamic Studies and the Arab World” in 2012. He completed his studies in France and the United States, and in 2006 he joined the Diplomatic Corps. He was an advisor to Minister Moratinos for Consular and Migratory Affairs until 2008. He then held the position of Deputy Head of Mission in Sudan until 2010, when he was transferred to Jordan, where he took over the role of Embassy Secretary. He later became the Deputy Head of the Embassy of Spain in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and currently works for the E.U. Foreign Service at the Algeria Desk.
