In Arabic.

he Arabic Language Center is proposing this encounter with Syrian author Luna al-Mousli. This workshop is intended exclusively for Arabic Language Center students who have reached a level of B1 (courses VIA/B/C, VIIA/B/C and VIIIA/B), because it will be held fully in Arabic.

Luna al-Mousli is visiting Casa Árabe on the occasion of the presentation of her new book. Una lágrima. Una sonrisa. Mi infancia en Damasco (A Tear, a Smile: My childhood in Damascus), published by the Milenio publishing firm in both Arabic and Spanish. The book presentation will be taking place one  day after the workshop, on March 5.

This workshop, to be held on Monday, March 4, will be run by Saida Schermiti, who is responsible for managing the Arabic Language Center. We recommend reading the book before attending the workshop, as well as preparing at least two questions in Arabic in order to pose them to the author during the event.

Luna al-Mousli was born in Melk, Austria in 1990. She grew up in Damascus and now lives and works as a writer and graphic designer in Vienna. She studied Graphic Design at the University of Applied Arts in that same city, and  Una lágrima. Una sonrisa (A Tear, a Smile) was her end-of-university project. As a student, she received a fellowship in the START Program. At present, she remains committed to the field of teaching and integration, including the TANMU Project to help young refugees with school-related issues.
