August 26, 2015
AVILéS, ASTURIAS
The Escuela Asturiana de Estudios Hispánicos Foundation was established in 1979, by the following professors: Enrique Fuentes Quintana, Juan Velarde Fuertes, José Luis Baranda Ruiz, Manuel Álvarez-Valdés y Valdés, Teodoro López-Cuesta Egocheaga and José Luis García Delgado.

Its objectives are to complete, promote and collaborate on all types of studies, seminars, scientific meetings, publications and any other related activity.

The courses by La Granda are conceived with three objectives in mind: as a meeting point for intellectuals and scholars who, mainly originating from the Americas, Europe and Spain, discuss cutting-edge topics for Hispanic culture, with all its wealth of potential; as a point of convergence for concerns about the region of Asturias with other more general concerns in Spain and the Spanish-speaking world at large; and last of all, as a focal point for compiling and disseminating a wide range of published materials related with its specific area.
