MADRID
The South Summit is a major event for startups, which increases awareness about the finest talents in the areas of the Mediterranean and Latin America, in addition to other subjects. We interviewed María Benjumea, president and founder of Spain Startup, to get to know more about this initiative.

In this video made for the Casas Network, Benjumea explains what the summit consists of and what its strengths are, while also insisting upon the idea of expanding the concept of the “South”: a South which produces great ideas and possesses important companies and assets. The conference speakers at this edition are fine examples of this.

Can one speak of commonly shared features between the startups in Latin America and those in southern Europe? Which are the most cutting-edge countries in this field on the other side of the Atlantic? In what direction is the business model headed? This businesswoman will be answering these and many more questions.

The Casas Network supports this initiative because, as stated by Tomás Poveda, Director General of Media and Public Diplomacy, it helps to promote entrepreneurship. “We at the Casas have worked hard to achieve these goals over the last three years, with talented youths, as well. The South Summit is an excellent Spanish initiative with a global impact.”
