As part of “Casa Árabe’s Arabian Nights at the Book Fair,” we will be hosting this contest for urban poets on Thursday, June 9. Sign up now to attend.
On Thursday, June 9, “The Thousand and One Nights” will become a magic carpet used for a live competition among urban poets. In a format resembling a poetry slam, Gonzalo Escarpa, director of Piscifactoría Laboratorio de Creación (“Fish Farm Creation Lab”), will lead this battle between bards, couplet writers, troubadours, minstrels, rhapsodists and 40 thieves of rhyme. Includes participation by Diego Mattarucco and Celia Bsoul.
The contest will be taking place in the Casa Árabe garden as of 10:00 p.m. To participate, you must sign up in advance by completing this form. Those selected will be contacted by e-mail or by phone.
The winner and runner-up will receive a set of books offered by Penguin Random House as a prize.
