Produced by Al Jazeera 360, this film is meant to encourage debate and help end the genocide in Gaza. It is a 44-minute documentary starring Palestinians who survived Israel’s devastating bombardment of the Gaza Strip’s largest hospital compound in March and April of 2024. The film documents the crimes by Israeli occupiers inside Al-Shifa through the exclusive witness testimonials of people who witnessed the killings, destruction, torture, starvation and arrests.

Directed by Obada Al-Baghdadi with a screenplay authored by Mahmoud Abu Ghalwa, the filming of “Al-Shifa Hospital: Crimes They Tried to Bury” was overseen by Jamaluddin El-Shayyal. Ibrahim Saber and Mohammed Al Adly co-produced it.

As pointed out by Awad Joumaa, head of original content at Al Jazeera 360, “The documentary is a snapshot of history and the ongoing genocide that has been taking place in Gaza since October 7. What makes this film different, as we intended from the day we decided we were going to do this, is that it documents everything that has happened through the voices of real people.”

The film’s production company has subtitled the documentary in English, French and Spanish to ensure its worldwide distribution, with the goal of helping end a situation that has already resulted in the death of over 37,000 Palestinians and the displacement of most of the Gaza Strip’s 2.3 million inhabitants.
