"From Qurtuba to Córdoba" Exhibition in Qatar
From June 23, 2013 until August 31, 2013
Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Spanish Embassy in Qatar and Katara (The Cultural Village Foundation), are officially opening the photography exhibition "From Qurtuba to Córdoba."
The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday June 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Katara headquarters in Doha (Building 13, Gallery 1).
This exhibition is made up of a selection of 50 photographs from the photographic contest “From Qurtuba to Córdoba,” held by Casa Árabe with the objective of rediscovering and finding a new appreciation, through photography, for the local heritage related with the period of Al-Andalus, by looking through these photographers’ lenses to see the Arab and Islamic legacy of the city of Cordoba.
The theme of all the snapshots is based on the seven categories into which the contest was classified: the Aljama Mosque and environs; Madinat al-Zahra; City Walls, City Gates, fortified towers and urban fabric; Minarets; Arab Baths; the Mudejar style; and freely chosen topics.
The exhibition will be open to the public until August 31.
