To mark the end of the exhibition “The Journeys of Water,” Casa Árabe has organized a special event for May 23. Sign up here to attend. SOLD OUT.

Accompanying artist Sara Kamalvand, will be Carmen Toribio, an architect who specializes in historical gardens, and poet Paco Carreño on a walk through the Retiro.

The tour will take us on a journey between past and present along the water infrastructures formed by the qanat system created when the gardens first came into existence. It will provide an opportunity to experience the Retiro Park as a heterotopic landscape, a vanishing palimpsest.

The meeting point will be Casa Árabe headquarters (at Calle Alcalá, 62). The walk will be followed by an apéritif in the gardens and will be conducted in Spanish and English without translation.

The exhibition can be viewed at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid until Sunday, May 26. After that, it will be travelling to the institution’s headquarters in Cordoba.
