Casa Árabe is hosting the presentation of this document at its
headquarters in Madrid on September 19. The event can be watched live on our YouTube channel.
The document being presented is the final result of the European project “COCO: Fighting everyday hate,” coordinated by the Cazalla Intercultural association, Jovesólides and the Al Fanar Foundation, which has trained more than 1,300 youths about how to fight everyday hate.
The publication was conceived during the Forum held at Casa Árabe last March, which brought together almost one hundred young people from all over Spain, alongside role-players from the political, social and academic worlds to reflect, discuss and reach a consensus on measures to move forward on doing away with this growing scourge.
Taking part in the event will be Carlos Rontomé, Second Vice-President and City Councillor for Education and Culture of the Autonomous City of Ceuta; Maysoun Douas Maadi, City Councilor for Más Madrid in the Municipal Government of Madrid, Luc Diouf, Member of Congress in the Socialist Parliamentary Group; and Ana Planet, Professor of the Sociology of Islam and Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid’s School of Philosophy and Letters, who will be debating the future potential of these measures and their impact on the world of politics at the local, national and European levels. Presented by Pedro Rojo, president of the Al Fanar Foundation, and Irene Lozano, the General Director of Casa Árabe.
