13th Festival of Film Created by Women

Casa Árabe is cooperating with the 13th Festival of Film Created by Women, which is organized by the Sobrarbe Women’s Group and the Huesca Feminist Women’s Collective. It will be taking place in these towns of the province of Huesca from March 11-17, and in the town of Boltaña, from March 7-10.
During the festival, 50 films will be shown, including feature films, short-subject fiction films and international documentaries (from Iran, Mexico, Germany, Lebanon, Spain, Norway, France, Morocco, the United Kingdom, etc.), in addition to the sections Aragonese Women, Women’s Short Films and Video of the Minute.
Casa Árabe has collaborated on the screening of the film Hanan Ashrawi, A Woman of Her Time, as part of the documentaries section.
Hanan Ashrawi, A Woman of Her Time, by Mai Masri (Lebanon, 1995, 52 minutes)
Hanan Ashrawi emerged as an important Palestinian leader during the first Intifada and managed to become a very persuasive voice on the international scene as a spokeswoman for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) during the Oslo negotiations. Director Mai Masri explores her personality above and beyond just her political and intellectual profile.
The screening of this film will be taking place a the Olimpia Theater in Huesca (address: Calle del Coso Alto, 42) on March 14 at 7:15 p.m. Free entrance until all seats are filled. A child care service is available on the premises.
