On March 5, Luna Al-Mousli is presenting her bilingual book in Arabic
and Spanish, at an event also to be attended by Syrian oud player Orwa
Saleh and Inés Puig, a children’s and youth literature specialist.
Luna Al-Mousli spent her childhood in Damascus and moved to Vienna at the age of 14. In this book, the author describes memories of her childhood in Syria, in the form of 44 short stories that take place in settings which no longer exist, with people who are no longer where they used to be. The stories are written in a bilingual format, in Arabic and Spanish, and are filled with tender memories and longing for a childhood and places that now seem so distant.
At the presentation, there will be a reading of excerpts from the book, accompanied by the music of the Syrian composer and Arabic oud player who resides in Vienna, Orwa Saleh.
The event was organized by Casa Árabe, the Cultural Forum of Austria and the publishing firm Editorial Milenio.
