On Thursday, November 13, we have organized yet another workshop in Cordoba for you to learn about history and archeology in a dynamic and fun way, along with SextoMario. On this occasion, we will be making jewelry inspired by filigree from Al-Andalus. Sign up now.

The jewelry of Al-Andalus was not intended for women alone. It also often served as a sign of prestige for the person wearing it.

The economic and artistic splendor of the Cordoba of the Caliphs, coupled with a tradition of jewelry making, led to the development of new techniques like filigree. Introduced by Jews who harked from Damascus, it eventually achieved international renown.

At this workshop, those attending will get the chance to make their own jewelry creations, using the filigree techniques from Al-Andalus as a model.

All of the materials are provided by the organizers and are free of charge.
