On Monday, April 6, Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Autonomous Regional Government of Extremadura, will be hosting the presentation of this collection of short stories by Julio César Galán, published by the Regional Publishing House of Extremadura. Come meet the author.

With references ranging from Camus to Cervantes, and from Max Aub to Adonis, this latest work by Julio César Galán is also an exercise in cultural and literary fusion, in which personal memory is intertwined with historical and collective memory. It is a testimonial about what it means to live and write through the lens of displacement, with the conviction that “our origin will now become nomadism, within a surreal cartography.”

For Óscar de la Torre, it is “(…) so much more: a notebook of versions, a mythical diary, a set of poems written in prose, a series of meeting points… Cities within cities, ruins within other ruins; in short, a chronicle that never bids farewell.”

Algerian nomads and other exiles is being added to the “Viajeros y estables” (“Travelers and Stationary”) collection, which includes texts that explore territories through experience and thought. The presentation will feature the author, who shall be accompanied by Pedro Escudero Tápiz. The event will be introduced by Karim Hauser, Casa Árabe’s Culture Coordinator.
