MADRID
Casa Árabe exhibition halls (at Calle Alcalá, 62). Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Free entrance.

Casa Árabe exhibits the works of several Algerian artists residing in Spain.

This display, which the Embassy of Algeria in Spain helped to organize, includes works by five Algerian painters residing in our country. Radia Tafat, Nahyla Abdallah, Milad Nouiouat, Ismael Hassaine and Djamel Naceri.

“Throughout the year of 2015, Algeria held two events which marked its history, the 60th Anniversary of the Algerian Revolution, an example followed by other liberation movements around the world, as well as the celebration of Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture for 2015, the opening ceremony of which was held in Constantine on April 16, 2015, with the participation of a Spanish delegation from Casa Árabe. This exhibition was opened with the attendance of Mr. Mohammed Haneche, the Ambassador of Algeria in Spain and Dean of the accredited Arab Ambassadors’ Group in Spain, as well as Mr. Eduardo López Busquets, the General Director of Casa Árabe, which has made it possible to strengthen the ties of friends and cooperation existing between the two countries even further. This event also provides an opportunity for these artists of Algerian origin residing in Spain to become better known and leave their personal mark behind on the cultural movement existing in Spain in general, and in the city of Madrid in particular.

These artists have participated with different media, colors and techniques of painting and artistic montage under the spotlight of Spanish-Algerian culture and the consolidation of a series of strong bonds that link our two countries.”
