Ali Khattab on the Flamenco White Night

From May 19, 2011 until June 18, 2011

Casa Árabe takes part once again in the Flamenco White Night, organized by the City Council in Cordoba on June 18th. The event for the occasion will be a guitar concert by the Egyptian player Ali Khattab, who will launch his album Al Zarqa.

This work music was composed while he was living in Jerez de la Frontera, and compiles all of the Flamenco traditional varieties, palos (soleas, seguiriyas, tarantas, tangos and rumbas) with its Orient fore-genres, the traditional Middle East maqamat (hijaz, rast, nawaathar and nahawand). Within the concert, Ali Khattab’s guitar sound mixes with Hesham Essam oud melodies and with Mohamed Medhat’s violin harmonies, two of the most brilliant young Cairo musicians.

The concert will be played at Abades Square in Cordoba at 2.30 the night between Saturday and Sunday. Free entrance.
