Applications are now being accepted to participate in Aula Árabe Universitaria 4 (AAU4)
From April 08, 2022 until May 15, 2022
MADRID / CORDOBA
We are now accepting applications from the university bachelor’s degree
and graduate programs that wish to take part in the upcoming edition of
Aula Árabe Universitaria. The applications may be completed online until
May 15.
All undergraduate and graduate programs (Master’s and PhD) at universities in the Autonomous Region of Madrid and in Cordoba can participate in the upcoming edition of Aula Árabe Universitaria (AAU4) and submit their proposals for speakers and topics, provided that they are related to the Arab and Muslim world, for the annual conference series to be organized throughout the academic year of 2022-23.
To do so, they need only complete an online form with their contact details and information about the university program, and their proposed speakers (up to four speakers, in order of preference). The deadline to complete the form and submit the proposals is May 15, including that date. After that time, the proposals will be evaluated. The university programs will be contacted in the month of June, and the calendar for the annual lecture series will then be determined.
Aula Árabe Universitaria is a series of conferences organized throughout the academic year with experts on topics proposed by the university programs that register and collaborate with the program. Because of this, the conferences are designed specifically for students in the participating programs, while at the same time they are offered to other students from programs participating in the Aula program, as well as the general public.
The goal is to promote cooperation among universities and foster multidisciplinarity, as well as increasing knowledge about the Arab world and complementing the curriculum taught by the associated university programs. Casa Árabe is responsible for organizing the conferences, and the university programs agree to bring their students so that they can participate.
The conferences are organized in person at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid and Cordoba as a way to promote contact between students and relevant international speakers and experts on different subjects and topics related to the Arab world. They are also broadcast live on Casa Árabe’s YouTube channel in order to link with the university programs in Cordoba and those who are collaborating with the Aula Mediterrània program organized by the IEMed, of which Aula Árabe is a sister program.
At the third and last edition, in the academic year of 2021-22, 25 bachelor’s degree and graduate programs from public and private universities in the Autonomous Region of Madrid (UAM, UCM, UC3M, URJC, Nebrija and St. Louis Madrid Campus) and two from Cordoba (Loyola University and University of Cordoba) took part. At this fourth edition, these programs are again invited to participate and submit proposals, as well as other programs interested in applying through this public notice about the event.
