We are now accepting applications from the university bachelor’s degree and graduate programs that wish to take part in the upcoming edition of Aula Árabe Universitaria. The applications may be completed online until May 16.
All bachelor’s degree and graduate (master’s and doctoral) programs at universities in the Autonomous Region of Madrid can participate in the next edition of Aula Árabe Universitaria (AAU3) and submit proposals for speakers and topics related to the Arab-Muslim world for the conference series that will be held in the academic year of 2021-22.
To do so, they need only complete an online form (link) with contact details and information about the university program, and their proposed speakers (up to five speakers, in order of preference). The deadline to complete the form and submit the proposals is May 16 (including that date).
Aula Árabe Universitaria consists of a series of conferences organized on an annual basis as proposed by the participating university programs, with experts and topics of interest to them. By doing this, the conferences are designed expressly for the students of the respective programs, and at the same time remain open to those in the other programs and the general public, thus encouraging inter-university cooperation and multidisciplinarity. The goal is to promote knowledge about the Arab world and complement the education provided by the associated university programs, offering students the opportunity to make contact with relevant international speakers and experts in different subjects and fields related with the Arab world.
At the first edition, launched in the academic year of 2019-20, fourteen bachelor’s degree and graduate programs from four of the public universities in the Autonomous Community of Madrid (CAM) (UCM, UAM, URJC and UC3M) took part. At the second edition, held in the academic year of 2020-21, seventeen university programs from public and private universities in the Autonomous Region of Madrid (UAM, UCM, URJC, Nebrija and St. Louis Madrid Campus) participated. For this third edition, these programs will once again be invited to participate and submit proposals, as well as all other programs interested in submitting applications through this public process.
