Applications for presentations at the twenty-Seventh FIMAM event now being accepted

The University of Valencia will be hosting this year’s annual meeting of the Forum for Research on the Arab and Muslim World (FIMAM), from October 22 to 24, 2025. You can send in your applications until June 2.
The twenty-seventh annual meeting of FIMAM, as on other occasions, will become a space for researchers from all over Spain to meet up and undertake analysis, though the event is open also to researchers from other countries. They will be discussing their research on different topics related with contemporary Arab and Islamic studies (whether already completed, in progress or just in their initial stages), from disciplines of study in the social sciences and cultural studies.
The meetings and panel discussions s organized over the three days in which the conference is to last will include a panel discussing for presenting early stage thesis projects, with the goal of receiving opinions and advice from more senior members. Panel discussions will be held mainly in Spanish, but contributions in other languages (English, French) may be considered, as well.
The deadline for submitting summaries of the potential presentations, containing no more than 300 words, is June 2, 2025. They can be sent in by clicking on this link.
The FIMAM is an initiative for scientific cooperation and thematic information on the Arab and Muslim world which combines a significant portion of the Spanish research community working on these issues, with the participation of professors, researchers and experts from universities and centers of research in both Spain and other countries. Since it was founded in 1995, an annual meeting has been held with the goal of creating a network to share information.
