"Arab Development Challenges" to be discussed

Casa Árabe hosted the discussion on Arab Development Challenges with PNUD representatives in Cairo, expert analysts and Spanish institutions.

The results of the report “Arab Development Challenges Report 2011 - Towards the Developmental State in the Arab Region”, published in February by the UNDP Regional Centre for Arab States, were discussed in June 15th in a round table organized by Casa Árabe.

One of the main authors of the report, Mohammad Pournik, Poverty and Millennium Development Goals Practice Leader at the UNDP Regional Centre for Arab States in Cairo, attended the event and offered an executive summary.

The meeting was inaugurated by Eduardo López Busquets, director general of Casa Árabe and by Paolo Lembo, Leader at the Regional Centre for Arab States in Cairo. Gonzalo Escribano, senior analyst at Elcano Royal Institute and Politics Economy at UNED and Kristina Kausch, senior researcher and research coordinator at FRIDE (Fundación para las Relaciones Internacionales y el Diálogo Exterior, a European Think Tank for Global Action), intervened as main commentators.
