Arab Drawing in Spanish Applied Arts

On Wednesday 5 June, Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Cordoba will be hosting a conference titled "The Legacy of Arab Drawing in Spanish Applied Arts."
This conference has been organized as part of the “Drawing the Applied Arts” days directed by Professor Sabina de Cavi of the University of Cordoba, with the sponsorship of the Spanish Ministry of the Economy and Competitiveness, through the Ramón y Cajal Program, with the collaboration of the Municipal Government of Cordoba, the Autonomous Regional Government of Andalusia and the Provincial Government, and will be taking place in the Casa Árabe Auditorium (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9).
The session schedule will be as follows:
5:00 p.m.: Alfonso E. Pérez Sánchez and the historiography of Spanish drawing.
Benito Navarrete, Director of Cultural Infrastructures of the Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville (ICAS), Municipal Government of Seville, and tenured professor of Art History at the University of Alcalá.
5:30 p.m.: Figure drawing, ornamental drawing and architectural drawing: impermeable or related fields?: The Case of Cordoba.
Fuensanta García de la Torre, Director of the Córdoba Fine Arts Museum (1981-2012).
6:00 Drawing and geometry in the medieval monuments project in Cordoba.
Francisco Rioboo, architect from the Territorial Delegation of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Regional Government of Andalusia.
6:30 Ornaments in the Mosque of Cordoba and other medieval monuments: drawing and processes for placement in works.
Pedro Marfil, substituting associate lecturer at the University of Cordoba.
7:00 Preparatory drawing in the applied arts of the Mudejar style.
