Arabic language and cultural immersion course in Madrid, Toledo and Cordoba

Take a deep dive into the fascinating world of the Arabic language with Casa Árabe’s immersion course! Throughout the months of June and July, we will be offering these courses in Madrid and Cordoba, allowing you to become immersed in the fascinating world of Arabic language and culture so that you can communicate fluently and enjoy a unique cultural environment. Organized by the Casa Árabe Language Center with the cooperation of the Toledo School of Translators at the University of Castilla La Mancha, this intensive program will allow you to learn the language quickly and effectively through face-to-face classes taught by native teachers with a great deal of experience in teaching Arabic as a foreign language, including a whole series of activities, meetings and tours in Arabic in Madrid, Toledo and Cordoba.
For one or two weeks, you will get the chance to become fully immersed in the Arabic language and culture, learning to communicate fluently while being more familiarized with pronunciation, grammar, listening comprehension and writing. Plus, you will get to enjoy a unique cultural environment, with interactive workshops on calligraphy, translation and interpreting, a film forum, cooking, Palestinian embroidery (tatreez)), music poetry and guided tours of emblematic monuments and sites in Madrid and Cordoba.
This course combines language training and cultural exploration, allowing you to discover our heritage from the Arab world and Al-Andalus on the Iberian Peninsula, all in a dynamic and enriching environment.
Whether you are a beginner or have an intermediate level, you can take advantage of this experience to boost your Arabic and improve your communication skills while enjoying Arab history, culture and heritage. It is a unique opportunity to learn, live and experience the Arabic language from an insider’s perspective.
The courses offer:
· Small groups.
· Teaching materials included.
· Tickets to the monuments and travel to the tour sites on all included Saturdays.
· 4 hours of classes in the morning, Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
· Cultural activities, workshops and guided tours in Madrid, Toledo and Cordoba(Cordoba city and Medina Azahara)

Courses:
Arabic language immersion courses in Madrid and Cordoba, held at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid and Cordoba, and at the Translators’ School in Toledo (University of Castilla La Mancha), designed for beginner and intermediate levels, with communicative and cultural objectives.
Registration, deadlines and fees
Registration period from February 13 through June 15. Sign up by using this form. A discount is given to those who enroll before April 30.
After registering, you will receive an email from the Arabic Language Center with the payment terms and deadlines. Payment must be made by bank transfer.
Registration fees are refundable until June 15. Fees include a processing fee of 5 euros per registration, which is non-refundable in the event of cancellation or if a group is not formed.
Course objectives
Comprehensive development of the Arabic language:
· Acquiring skills in oral and written comprehension, as well as speaking and written expression skills, adapted to each student’s level (A1, A1.2, and A2).
· Improving pronunciation and intonation, taking advantage of interaction with native speakers.
· Gradually strengthening knowledge of grammar and expanding themed vocabulary related with everyday situations, gravel, work and culture.
Communication and practical skills
· Taking part in real conversations about topics involving family, culture and society.
· Knowing how to express opinions, wants and future plans, as well as describing experiences, events and dreams.
· Applying more complex grammatical structures (past, future, basic subjunctive, subordinate clauses) in a practical way.
Cultural and sociolinguistic immersion
· Learning about and understanding Arab and Al-Andalus culture, including customs, rules of courtesy, idiomatic expressions and local traditions.
· Taking part in practical workshops: Arabic calligraphy, translation and interpreting, film forums, cooking, Palestinian embroidery (tatreez), music and poetry.
· Visiting historical monuments and iconic sites in Madrid, Toledo and Cordoba, in order to contextualize language learning within its cultural environment
Achieving independence and ongoing learning
· Developing autonomous learning strategies, allowing students to continue studying Arabic after the course on their own.
· Building confidence and self-assuredness when communicating in real, everyday situations.
Social interaction and practice
· Taking advantage of living with other students and native speakers to practice the language in informal and social contexts.
· Creating an enriching and motivating experience, combining academic learning with cultural interaction.
Levels and contents
IMMERSION O (beginners – A1)
· Objectives:
- Introducing the Arabic alphabet (sounds and letters)
- Learning basic phrases and greetings
- Understanding and expressing yourself in everyday communication situations
- Gradually acquiring grammatical structures and basic vocabulary
IMMERSION 1 (elementary A1.2 and A2)
· Objectives:
- Strengthening and expanding upon prior knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
- Acquiring new grammatical structures and vocabulary
- Being able to communicate in various everyday situations
- Developing discursive expressions and linguistic formulas
